Is Melky Cabrera Worthless?

Melky Cabrera:
-Starter?
-Bench Player?
-Wothless?

Melky is a decent player, however he's not an offensive threat.  Melky brings to the outfield mediocre defense at best, making the rare stunning play.  I feel that Gardner is the better fielder and would bring to the table better offensive numbers...he can also bunt.  I feel that Gardner should start and Melky would be a good bench player to have.   He is mediocre at best, but he offers the Yankees good versatility because he can play all outfield positions.  He is also a young guy and pretty cheap.  If you think of other (bench) players in baseball that fit this criteria, you will have a hard time finding one.  Sure, he didn't live up to all the hype, but he is still very young. I believe the player who proves themselves in Spring training will get the start.  Neither one of these guys is a done deal as far as starting goes.  Right now, however, that man should be Gardner.  Many people feel Melky should be traded, but in my opinion, he should stick around....at least until the trade deadline in July (depending on how often the Yankees use him and how successful he is).
