spring training starts tomorrow!

FINALLY! After a disappointing 2008 season, the Yankees are ready to begin their journey to another World Series. Although it is only Spring training, fans get a taste of what may come this year. After a long winter of a frustrating NY Giants exit from the playoffs and yet another failed Knicks season, baseball is starting! Lets put this Joe Torre obomination and A-rod's steroid use behind us and play some BASEBALL. Fuck all the drama that went on in the off season, its about time to concentrate on more important things-WINNING! And MORE winning (i hope). It's time to start bleeding Yankee blue.

a-roid

I am so sick of hearing about Alex Rodriguez and his steroid use. Anytime a player gets accused of using some form of steroids, they make like it's the biggest news on earth. I can't tell you how many times I've heard on the T.V. , "Alex Rodriguez......Steroids" My family has the news on in the kitchen in the evening and it's like everytime I walk past I hear something about it. I'm not going to defend A-Rod because the use of steroids is stupid and it's like cheating. The only thing I can appreciate is that he admitted it. This makes me happy mainly because we don't have to hear it 24-7 or on prime time news (or ALL day). How about, throw out all of his records that he broke while using steroids and be done with it!? Barry Bonds and Mark McGuire didn't deserve that home run record either-or maybe they should just get insulted like Roger Maris and put an asterisk next to all the records they (steroid users) break. Maris was NOT a steroid user, but he was insulted in my opinion with that asterisk. Anyway, I just hope Alex can help the Yankees win. That's the bottom line.

The classless Joe Torre

Lets talk about hypocrisy, lets talk about classless, lets talk about poor character-hell, we might as well just talk about Joe Torre. Being a huge Yankee fan, I figured that I could rant about how upset I am with Torre's recent actions in my first blog. If you are unfamiliar with what has been going on, last season the Yankees offered Torre a lot less money to manage the team because he (along with the team) was not living up to the Yankees' high expectations. As a result, Joe turned this offer down and signed with the L.A Dodgers in 2008. Recently, Torre wrote a book that basically trashes the Yankees organization, along with private things that went on behind closed doors. Previously, if you know they type of guy Torre seemed to be, you would find this shocking. Joe Torre was all about team privacy, or so we thought. Many of the players looked up to him as someone they could trust with anything including their deepest secrets. Any time an ex-Yankee would talk badly of the organization or the players, Torre voiced his extreme dislike for it. He found that is was unnecessary and offensive. Well, look whose doing it now! Torre is settling a personal grudge that he now has with the Yankees because he didn't get what he wanted. This is a completely classless move. Sure, he has a right to write this book, but don't pretend your against bad mouthing the Yankees all these years and do the same exact thing. It's not as if he's just SAID certain things, he wrote a 400 page book about it. Telling secrets that went on in the locker room and all this other bullshit! When your players looked up to you and trusted you. Are you kidding me!? The Yankees made you who you are Joe, they made you a millionaire-a somebody! They took you out of the dirt heap of failed managers and made you a successful Yankee. Unfortunately that success began to fade. This is New York and people expect things. If you don't produce, you don't deserve to make the same ridiculously high salary you've been making. Either accept the pay cut or move on to another team gracefully, respectfully. Don't turn into a huge hypocrite with no class. Even if Torre felt what the Yankees did to him was wrong, have some respect, at least enough for the FANS, to not do this. And what about L.A? Are the Dodgers now going to trust their mediocre manager? I think not. This is a completely terrible thing Joe has done and it shows his true colors. He lost all of my respect, along with many other disgruntled Yankee fans. I can't wait until somebody comes out with a negative book about HIM.
